When He Gets What He Is In Need Of, He Leaves Blessings | 14th April 2023

The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it. In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. Mark 11:12‭-‬14‭, ‬20 NIV

**Jesus needed fruit from the fig tree…it had none

** Why did Jesus curse the fig tree and yet it was not the season for fruit…?

** A fig tree has two times for fruit…March/April, small not too sweet figs (called poor man’s fruit)…Sept/Oct the big sweet figs (rich man’s fruit)

*** Two main reasons that brought the curse…

– the tree had appearance ( big green leaves ,) pretence without any substance

– good potential but nothing to show for it just like there was a temple but no prayers therein Mk.11::15-17

*** Jesus needed fruit from the fig tree however small not nice appearance

Jesus needed prayers from the temple not merchandise

*** What is He in need of from each one of us..?

When He gets what He is in need of, He leaves blessings behind..
