True worship is costly but must be done.
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
Matthew 2:1-2 NIV
– The magi travelled a journey of over 600km from the East all the way to Jerusalem to come worship the newly born King.
– They followed His star meaning they only travelled at night, in the dark thus the journey took about two months.
– Protocol demanded they pass through Herod who only complicated the matter further.
– Seeing the challenges the magi had to overcome in order to come worship, do we have an excuse? True worship is costly but must be done.
– Let the wise glean some nuggets of wisdom from the magi.
